In MyCivicsLife, students join password-protected, teacher-controlled communities where they collaborate, think critically, and practice thoughtful discussion about civics topics. MyCivicsLife was designed with your student’s safety in mind:
- MyCivicsLife is Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) compliant, meeting federal standards for protecting student data and privacy, and we certify our compliance annually through the kidSAFE Seal Program.
- Teachers joining the platform must have their employment verified before their accounts are activated.
- Students cannot participate without consent from their parent or guardian.
- Students cannot share information outside the platform, and we never share or sell your student's information.
- Only you and your student’s teacher can see your student’s real name and login details, and you control who can see your student's content.
When your student creates their account, they will provide your email address. You will receive an email notification with a link to create your account and instructions for providing parental/guardian consent.
